Pages of our history

Our “ENA”, the open-type (public) joint-stock company for manufacturing of Electric Pump Units, was established 1992 as a legal successor of the Schelkovskiy Nasosniy Zavod, i. e. The Pump Factory, located in SCHELKOVO, a town near MOSCOW.

The main Dates of Our History

1932
—  The Soviet Trust “SOYUZKHIMMASHMONTAZH” (= USSR Fitters of Chemical Equipment & Machinery) had chosen outskirts of town Schelkovo near Moscow to establish here of the new workshops for either repairing - or manufacturing new of various chemical components (vacuum devices, valves, etc.).

1933 —  The rapidly progressed workshops became developed into the “KHIMAPPARATURA” (= CHEMICAL APPARATUS) works, incl. by erection of facilities for annual production of 400 t cast-iron. Their main products then were: black-lead Brause cups, anodic bathes, galtovic bells, gear reducers, Pumps with 3-vanes’ Impellers, etc.

1936 —  The former “KHIMAPPARATURA” works are converted into the state-owned works “KHOLODIL’NOE OBORUDOVANIE” (= REFRIGERATING EQUIPMENT), and so re-subordinated from the Trust “SOYUZKHIMMASHMONTAZH” to the periods’ USSR Peoples’ Commissariat (= Ministry) of Chemical Machine-building.

1937 —  the works had launched production of various refrigerating units in line with the DN (ВТ)-Type piston Pumps, and of some other products as well.

1941 — with the USSR involved into the WW2, the works, camouflages under the # 725, are converted for manufacturing of the 82-mm mortar shells. During the very first year after this conversion, daily production was increased impressively from 5 000 up to 12 000 such shells!

1946 —  after the WW2, the works are further converted into “SCHELKOVSKIY ZAVOD MALYKH HYDROTURBIN” (= FACTORY OF SMALLER HYDROTURBINES in SCHELKOVO) to supply electric motors and smaller hydroturbines for rural hydropower stations, these widespread in the periods USSR.

1950 — the works are ordered to produce ЭПН (EPN)-7: dual-piston vertical marine Pumps for handling of either sea- or fresh water, light- or heavy oil products on boards of various sea-, lake- or river vessels.

1956/1958 — the works are finally converted into “SCHELKOVSKIY NASOSNIY ZAVOD” (= The Pump Factory, located in SCHELKOVO), specialized upon manufacturing of centrifugal Pumps for various economy branches. Only during 1951 / 5 they had launched serial production of total 45 various Pump Types. Since 1954, the works were supplying marine Pumps for the Soviet non-nuclear submarines (НАПЛ / NAPL) of the first post-WW2 generation; since 1952- for multi-purpose nuclear submarines (АПЛ / APL), and in 1958 - also for the “LENIN”, the World’s-first nuclear Arctic ice-breaker.

1962/1967 — the works had faced impressive extensions and renovations, incl. introduction of the period’s-newest, scientifically-based technologies / devices. This had abled further achievements in production of either marine- or chemical Pumps.

1965 — the works had become the Soviet-first to launch serial production of Pumps from titanium alloys.

1969/1974 — added to production facilities are the new block of workshops, and a modern automated line for serial production of petrol-handling Pumps.

1976 — overall extension and upgrading of production facilities are completed successfully by inauguration of The Block of Auxiliary Workshops, incl. equipment-repairing, tool-manufacturing, half-fabricate ones. At this moment, the works had over 100 customers in about 40 countries worldwide, incl. such Soviet-largest foreign traders, as “TECHMASHEXPORT” (= Export of Technologies & Machines), “SUDOIMPORT” (= IMPORT OF VESSELS), “NEPHTEKHIMEXPORT” (= EXPORT OF OIL & CHEMICALS), etc.

1977/1984 — impressive growth in production of marine- and chemical Pumps. Introduction of stainless steels and titanium alloys as basic materials for manufacturing of Pumps’ flow-channels as well, as of the period’s-innovative welding- and punching technologies.

1985/1990 — gradual conversion for production of the new Pump generation of titanium alloys in accordance with the International Standard ISO 2858. Simultaneous upgrading and further perfection of the entire family of petrol-handling Pumps.

1992 — privatization with official registration of the open-type (public) joint-stock company “ЭНА (ENA) : the sole legal successor of “SCHELKOVSKIY NASOSNIY ZAVOD”.

1993 — official certification of the newly-re-equipped our own Testing Centre, included since then into The Register of the Russian GOSSTANDARD.

1994 — our designers had created and set into serial production innovative Pump Types KM and K for heat- / water-supplying; Type KM-РП (KM-RP) Electrtic Pump Units with adjustable speeds of rotation; Type CM sewage Pumps. Simultaneously, our Company had received: official licenses for designing and manufacturing of Pumping Equipment for chemical industries, incl. explosive-, fire-hazardous-, and generally-dangerous ones. Received simultaneously are Certificates of Conformity for the Pump Types KM and 1CM (SM); K-type Electric Pump Units.

1995 — our designers had created innovative Pumping Equipment for chemical- and generally-dangerous industries, incl. fully enclosed Pump Units with magnetic couplings. Created simultaneously are autonomous heaters, based upon certain designs of our Electric Pump Units.

1997/1998 — entered serial production are: innovative Pumping Equipment for food-processing industries; Rotor-Impulse Pump Units for either agricultural- or power applications (in the latter case - for preparation of hydrocarbon emulsions as of fuels for heat-generators); Pump Units, homogenizing solutions for oil- / gas extraction, etc. Much attention was paid simultaneously to creation of power-saving Pumping Equipment with adjustable speeds of rotation.

1999/2000 — entered serial production is innovative Pumping Equipment for food-processing industries. Created by our designers are Rotor-Impulse Pump Units of the Types А1РПА (A1RPA) - for food-processing, and АНГ (ANG)-100/10 - for oil- / gas industries.

2001/2007 — increasing of serial production of the Pumping- and alike Equipment for communal- and domestic applications: Type КМЛ ( KML ) сirculating Electric Pumps; Type KMC (KMS) twin Electric Pumps for in-line installation; Type ACB (ASV) automated Pumping Stations. Designed simultaneously for chemical- and oil- / gas industries is the self-priming fuel Pump of Type 1 СЦН (STsN)-90/80. Since October 2002 the entire our Company works under the certified Quality Management System, corresponding to the International Standards ISO of the 9000 series.

2008/2011 — further upgrading of our production facilities, incl. wide-scale replacement of outdated equipment pieces with the newest highly-efficient, power-saving, computer-controlling ones. Designed and entered serial production simultaneously are several new Pump Types.

Since 2012 — designed and entered serial production are: Type НЦВ (NTsV) marine Pumps for on-board fire-extinguishing systems; Type ТХИ (TKhI) semi-submersible Electric Pump Units for chemical industries; Type АКА-Ж (AKA-Zh) for nuclear power plants. Developed for various oil-extracting and oil-processing applications is the family of total 80 sizes of the Type HKA (NKA) cantilever-style Pump Units; these highly recognized by oil- / chemical experts after already the short initial operation.
